Playne's tennis ball cloth or melton has been manufactured at our factory in the West of England since the early 20th century. The origin of the Playne's brand rests with the original owners William Playne & Co whose history dates back to 1759.

Nearly 100 years of tradition and highly sophisticated manufacturing techniques have been combined to produce a superior performing product, which is now the choice of all the leading manufacturers and brands in the tennis industry.

Playne’s tennis cloth is selected for three grand slam tournaments; Wimbledon, the French Open and the Australian Open, and many other major tournaments around the world.
